Tedesco says the family owned pizza establishment founded as the Bergen Line Tavern Pizzeria by his grandfather Tony Tedesco 56 years ago, and reportedly the oldest pizza restaurant in the coutry, has been promoting beer with pizza since 1938.
"We've always had pizza and beer promotions,"Tedesco says. "Before prohibition we worked with local breweries and sold beer in growlers (which are like pails). We used to run specials on beers like Knickerbocker, Rupert's, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Ballantine."
