A Historical Landmark
by John Tedesco (4th Generation)

Many people will tell you that Tedesco’s Restaurant was a historical landmark in this town and will always be remembered.

This website has been developed for the sole purpose of archiving and preserving the history and name of this family restaurant handed down through 4 generations between the years of 1916 and 1996.

I was only a child when I first learned how to make pizza and eventually became the main “Pie-Man” when I was 17 years old.  I worked with my aunts and uncles on the busiest nights of the week.  Along with my brother, who tended bar, and my sister, who was a waitress, it was truly a family-managed restaurant and created the greatest memories of my life.

Throughout this site, you will find many photographs of our history and learn about some amazing times.  Like in 1994, my father and Uncle put together a funny, slap-stick style public access TV show that was recorded on the premises of the restaurant every Monday night with the sole purpose of drawing new business.  “The Mike and Tony Show” aired in 2 million households in New Jersey and also appeared in New York and Pennsylvania.

More importantly, our press archives will reveal facts about the restaurant’s history and how it was said to be one of the first pizza places in the U.S. by Pizza Today Magazine

I hope you enjoy this documentary and if you have any feedback, comments or just want to say you remember us, please let us know.  Also, if there is anything additional you would like to see on this site, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
